She is currently studying towards PHD in Public Health at the University of KwaZulu Natal. She has also studied BA (Hons) Social Behaviour Studies (HIV/AIDS) through the University of South Africa. She has been exposed to public sector procurement systems, logistics and distribution services. She has eight years managerial experience in the provision of Pharmaceutical Services. She was the Assistant Manager: Pharmaceutical Services at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital. In her pharmacy career, Thandeka has been exposed to both Community and Institutional Pharmacy.

Mrs Thandeka Njapha is the current Manager: Pharmaceutical Services /Depot Manager responsible for the Provincial Pharmaceutical Supply Depot (PPSD). Thandeka is currently serving as a member of the Bid and Specification Committee for Pharmaceutical Tenders and Contracts facilitated by the National Department of Health. Mrs Njapha also serves as a member of the National Essential Medicine List Committee (NEMLC). She is currently the chairperson for the KwaZulu-Natal Coastal Branch of the South African Association of Hospital and Institutional Pharmacists (SAAHIP).
